OOAK ACEOs Currently in my Shop

Interwoven Melody OOAK ACEO

Inspired by a few of my newfound scrapper friends I have pushed myself away from the computer and been creating a few actual handmade ACEOs. Although I won't be giving up my digital camera (and nobody even better think about taking away my Photoshop), I have been enjoying myself! Tell me, what you do you think?

Classic Encounters OOAK ACEO

An ACEO for those who do not know stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals are miniature works of art the size of a baseball or playing card. They can be framed or stored in a trading card album. ACEOs can be created in any medium available in the art world. There are no rules limiting the artist, except that the dimensions have to be 2.5" x 3.5". They're a great way of collecting original art, at an affordable price.

All of the One of a Kind (OOAK) ACEOs shown here are available in my Etsy shop, just click on the image to take you directly to that ACEO in my shop.

I Had the Best Day Yesterday...

Yesterday, I had an old friend come to visit with her three daughters. About 20+ years ago, she, my sister & I were roomies in Houston, and we had some of the craziest, most kookiest times together. As things happen, we lost contact with one another. Recently, however, we re-found each other on Facebook. By strange coincidence, this gal is from Port Huron, the town where my family and I have just moved to. So, she is home to visit, and we got to meet up again after all these years.

We had lunch here then went down to the Lighthouse Beach & St. Clair riverwalk. You have to see this water in Port Huron, it is such a pretty blue-green color!!! We just sat on the beach and talked and got caught up, while the girls frolicked in the waves. Beautiful sunshine-y 75° degree weather, with a nice cool breeze, great scenery, good company....a perfect day! :o)

Freighters are a common sight, but their vastness never ceases to amaze me.

Recipe - Ricotta Peanut Butter Rice Cakes

Once again, I find myself on a diet...throughout the years, I cannot even tell you the many different methods I have tried to lose weight....but I never quit trying! Like my mother, I adore peanut butter, and though it is not the worst food in the world for you, the fats are plant-based, not animal-based, it still tends to pack a wollop to your tallies when you are dieting. So what to do when you are craving it, while dieting....

I came up with this quick breakfast many diets ago. When you combine peanut butter with a low fat ricotta, the ricotta seems to pick up that flavor. So a little bit of peanut butter goes along way. Here's what you need:

1/4 C part-skim Ricotta Cheese
1 Tbs reduced-fat Peanut Butter
2 Tbs Raisins
2 tsp Honey
2 Caramel Corn Rice Cakes

Okay, this is very simple, in a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese and peanut butter. Spread over the rice cakes, top with raisins & honey. See, simple!

These are great for when you're running out of the house in a hurry, beats going to a drive-thru and picking up a saturated fat laden breakfast sandwich and a lot better for you!

Personalized Custom Mini Notecards - Sima Gilady

This past week I finished up a second Custom Mini Notecard order for Sima Gilady. If you have never been to SimaG's Etsy Shop, I encourage you to go take a look at her gorgeous hand hammered jewelry. More than just beautiful necklaces, Sima pours love into everything and everyone she touches. Gotta just love this lady!!!

I love creating these unique cards, and working with each shop owner to create a special design of their own. I never really know what the finished product is going to look like until the end. The best part of this process is seeing the ideas you bring to the table and combining them with my skills as a graphic designer.

Custom minis are a unique way to thank your customer for their order. They are a great substitute to sending a business card, as all your information is already on the back. Each card comes with its own hand-made (yes, hand cut and glued by me) white envelope. The insides of the card have been left blank for your own message.

Show your customers how proud you are of the artwork and the crafts you create with these 3"x3" personalized notecards. Coming soon... 2"x2" Petite Mini Notecards...shhhh! ;)
